Since In the Running will be donating to seven organizations, each donation will be somewhat modest on the scale of a major international charitable organization. A smaller donation can be more effectively applied at a local level by a good grassroots group. Larger international organizations also benefit from their name brand recognition, while In the Running can help raise awareness of smaller projects whose work is just as pressing and essential.
